The 108 Projects product Dougie F returns this week with “BLM” & “Luxury.” Both these tracks supplied a heavy dosage of America’s sad reality. This past Monday Dougie F dropped off “Luxury,” which was accompanied by some amazing visuals. The visuals supported Dougie F’s focus as he raps on the motivation behind looting and how it is a product of larger societal issues. The man told no lies on here with his flawless delivery over a SOLID production job. “CHANEL BAG I JUST LOOTED!” *tweets lyrics* Friday, Dougie followed up strong with “BLM.” It’s pretty obvious what this track was about. Just like Dougie F’s lyrics, the visuals which were directed by WhoTheWizz, touch on police brutality, economic inequality and racial injustice. Some notable lyrics from “BLM” are as follows:
“We blacking out the post for notoriety/Tried taking a knee But now we marching right in the doors/What the f*** is you quiet for I get it why they looting Now you see why we riot for 300 plus years/I be damn if we go through more/Can’t calculate our damage/Cause the pain wasn’t insured,” he added.”
Both Tracks showcase Dougie’s rapping ability and him speaking on important issues that weigh heavy on his heart. I didn’t know too much about Dougie F initially, but I’m all the way tuned in. And remember… BLACK LIVES MATTER! Check out the visuals for “BLM” & “Luxury” below!
